Fairytale Novara: fun for children

If you are planning a holiday with your children in the Novara area, this article is for you: the province offers a variety of “Wonderlands”, where children can enjoy themselves in many different ways.

A dip in blue waters

For little Nemos, Ondaland is the ideal habitat. This is the Vicolungo water park, the main one in the area. The amazing River Rapid descent, the Black Hole covered slide, the long Fantasy River, the adrenaline-pumping Kamikaze and, for the little ones, the hilarious Taboga are just some of the extraordinary attractions on which you can have as much fun as your children.

Less than 20 minutes from Ondaland is the Tre Re swimming pool di Fara Novarese; an area covering 25,000 square meters with a huge Jacuzzi, an Olympic swimming pool with diving boards, slides and areas dedicated to sport, including a fitness area and five-a-side football and beach volley courts.

To the infinite and beyond!

Want to fly like Buzz Lightyear? The Lago Maggiore Ziplineis for you: about ninety seconds of pure emotion flying down to meet the Lake. Brave children at least 120 centimeters tall and weighing a minimum of 35 kilos can, regardless of their age, zipline in complete safety.

The Zipline is located in Aurano, in the VCO: on the way to your destination or on your return, take the opportunity to stop over in some of the lakeside towns of the province of Novara. For example in Arona, with its ice cream parlours and a well-equipped playground overlooking the lake.

One step away from the clouds

Is there anyone in the family who dreams of a balloon flight inspired by the movie Up? Remaining just within the borders of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, it is possible, taking off from Stresa, to imitate the protagonists of the animated feature film.

You can also enjoy the view of Lake Maggiore from above from Mottarone. Children from the age of four can go on Alpyland, an adjustable-speed bobsleigh track. Enchanting views for adults to admire, a real carousel for the young!

In the footsteps of Mowgli

For the more active, curious and reckless little explorers, adventure parks are the pinnacle of fun.

Atthe Adventure Park Bulé in Bellinzago Novarese children will be able to try their hand at suspended paths, walkways, lianas and pulleys. At the Adventure Park Baveno they will pass from the climbing gym to the swimming pool, from Tibetan bridges to trampolines, from soccer fields to falconry. Whilst at the Le Pigne Adventure Park on Lake Orta – in a magical, lush green environment filled with oaks, chestnuts and firs reminiscent of the Hundred Acre wood of everyone’s friend Winnie The Pooh – children can pretend they are Tarzan, passing from lianas to swinging rings, Nepalese bridges, walkways, barrels and so on.

Searching for treasure on the lake

Are there any little Captain Hooks or Jack Sparrows amongst us? Every August since 2014 all aspiring pirates have been summoned to Lake Orta for a fascinating open-air treasure hunt consisting of challenges and puzzles to be solved with the help of their parents. All they have to do is sign up and arrive dressed in the style of the 1700s and 1800s: let their imagination run wild, yo-ho-ho!

And Tinkerbell?

Finally, all the natureloving little fairies and gnomes can walk the six kilometers of the Invorio Fairy Tale Path: the various paths, of the Fairies, the Goblins, the Elves and the Gnomes, are scattered with notice boards bearing illustrated stories, games to play and lecterns with explanations on the flora and fauna encountered along the route, which is almost totally flat. A perfect educational experience for families, engaging for children and relaxing for adults!
